Flinders Golf Club, established in 1902, is located on the southeast tip of the Mornington Peninsula. The club, rooted in humble beginnings with a 4-hole layout, quickly expanded to an 18-hole course.

With a starting membership of 22, the club expanded to 155 golfers by 1905, affirming its popularity. In 1926, Alister MacKenzie, renowned golf course architect, visited Flinders Golf Club. He offered crucial advice on hole adjustments and course enhancements, including the transformation of the 6th hole (now the 4th) from a par three to a par four, making it a significant feature of the club.

Although the exact implementation date of MacKenzie’s recommendations remains unknown, his influence is apparent in the club’s current structure and strategic hole placements.
