Legends Course

Opened in 2003, the Legends Course is the younger counterpart to the Open Course.

Designed by Ross Perrett, this golf course has garnered high regard in course reviews, offering a challenging play that, although somewhat easier than the Open Course, remains formidable.

The course is measured at 6,315 metres off the black tees, making it shorter than its predecessor. The Legends Course takes advantage of its naturally lush environment, featuring abundant trees and bushes, and tactically placed sandbelt-style bunkers.

Adding a touch of fun to the game, each hole is named after a famed golfer, including Australian greats as well as international legends like Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.

Despite its relative youth, the Legends Course has established itself as a must-play in the Australian golf scene.

Open Course

The Open Course at Moonah Links, the first of its kind, is a unique 18-hole golf course meticulously crafted for the Australian Open.

Stretching an impressive 6783 metres, it stands among the world’s longest golf courses and offers a rigorous test of golfing skills, akin to experiences typically reserved for top professionals. Despite its formidable nature, the course is versatile and can be adjusted to various lengths based on the choice of tees.

The course’s strategic design ensures that the prevailing wind, a constant feature, never favours a particular direction, adding to its challenging character. Notably, the course boasts exceptional spectator viewing platforms, enabling enthusiasts to enjoy the action up close.

The Open Course ushers a novel experience to Australian golf, giving visitors a taste of championship-level play. – Peter Thomson, 5-time British Open Champion.
